Am I materialistic?
I tell myself I’m not, others tell me I’m not and ofcourse Aaron tells me I’m not. I hope I’m not… But daily I spend probably an hour getting “ready”. It starts with my $300 straightener, continues on with random brands of makeup that I have had to have over the last few years. ( for my ” sensitive skin”……) Then I continue my ready Sesh with my tons of Clothes that everyday I tell myself ” I have nothing to wear” and I’ll go buy myself another shirt or another skirt. Once I have layered myself in clothes, necklaces, rings, usually a scarf and expensive perfume and my favorite pair of shoes for the week I am able to head out. Ok ok so looking at this i have to ask myself is it wrong to spend money on yourself? Is it wrong to spend an hour on your self everyday? I have heard the expression that the way we dress is an outward expression of our personality…so is it ok to spend the money and time to express myself?
God has opened Mine and Aarons eyes a lot on this tour. We’ve realized we are very very blessed people and though we do feel as if we have been fairly good stewards of our money we also feel as if God is calling us to a life of “less” We are here to serve him! And do his work.
